Mass spectrometry is a precise technology that is used to determine the weight, composition and structure of a molecule which allows us to identify unknown proteins (proteomics) and metabolites (metabolomics) and characterize the structure of complex carbohydrates. At NRC-IBS, our focus has been on the analysis of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and metabolites in biological systems. This work is performed in support of our internal research objectives as well as in collaboration with industrial, academic and other government partners. For more information, please contact our mass spectrometry facility directly at John.Kelly@nrc.gc.ca.
