Most cellular processes are orchestrated by macromolecular complexes. These are mainly, but not limited to, protein-protein interactions. The heterogeneity and large size of these assemblies on one hand and subtle molecular differences with small interacting partners make these systems challenging to study. Mass spectrometry is a versatile tool that can handle all classes of biomolecules and particularly suitable in characterizing macromolecules and their interactions.
